Amazing individual players, but total improvisation and lack of strategy.
That was enough to beat lesser teams, but not for teams like Germany.

Where was Veron, Miguel? Was
Where was Veron, Miguel? Was he judged too slow for this game? He really blew it with waiting so long for subs.
Maradona is not a real coach.
Maradona is not a real coach. Just a motivator. Either Veron or Pastore should have been part of the starting 11. Messi needed someone to feed him instead of having to try to start a play on the midfield.
What happened today is what all the argentines who know a bit about the game were fearing.
We knew we had no defense and that there never was any well-thought strategy.
and who were those two guys
and who were those two guys at the back? very similar to the game against england. a weak defense exposed. next thing you know beckham will be coaching england!

I guess it was the German
I guess it was the German team's graduation party today; they grew and arrived at the wc stage; let's see how it will continue. About Maradona/coach: doesn't he have a large coaching staff? what influence do the other coaches have? 4 years ago, Klinsmann was the motivator of the German team with Low in the background responsible for analysis & tactics. Did the Argentinians let Maradona run the whole show?
Sadly they did. Enrique (part
Sadly they did. Enrique (part of the staff) knows somewhat, but Maradona never listens.
Coaches influence by selecting a balanced team, analyzing the rivals and adopting a consistent strategy.
Maradona left out players like Cambiasso and Zanetti, both key-players for Champion's League winner, Inter.
As I said in posting below, our team was a just a sum of great attacking players with no defense.
Would have Cambiasso played
Would have Cambiasso played together with Mascherano? I believe Argentina would have beat Germany 4 years ago if Messi would have been substituted in instead of Cruz; small nimble and shifty outside players always give great problems to (German) defenses.
Bad enough the fucking
Bad enough the fucking germans won, but I was in a tapas bar happily avoiding the end of the game and 10 of them came in with matching shirts on, sat and stood right next to me and...well....were german
short dinner.
i essentialize only germans
Give it UP for the GERMANS!!
Give it UP for the GERMANS!! You can love a country or you can love the metaphor.
Hey Steinberg, they'll even give you free citizenship my friend Rosen tells me.
Miguel, supposedly he had Mourinho's number beside his bed. I wonder if he called him last night and what Mourinho will reveal about that conversation!
