I started to tell this story over on the France/Mexico gamecast, but thought I'd save it for a bigger turnout. Now I may never get the chance to tell it. Nevertheless, here's the teaser:

Why France Owes Me

I should really save this story for the Quarterfinals when France and England meet, but it's a bit optimistic to think that France will get out of their group, let alone top it. So I'll tell it now.

Back in 2004 we made our family vacation the European Championships. And we lucked into tickets for THE game of the group round: England vs, France. Needless to say, I was ecstatic.

Things only got better when we showed up and promptly sold Masterpick and cath ziliotto's tickets for ten-fold their face value to England fans far madder than I. But then it all turned aigre  . . .

Instead of finishing this I'd like to hear some serious ranting from you French fans out there.

29 People had Mexico, so no surprise if we see them advance, but at France's demise? Or was that actually IRELAND exacting their revenge in those green shirts today? France will need to overcome a 5-goal differential between themselves and Uruguay--very unlikely.
